Al-Hilla University Policy to Support Low-Income Students
Al-Hilla University has a clear policy to support the academic success of students from low-income backgrounds. As a non-profit institution, the University provides financial assistance to eligible students in the form of scholarships and tuition discounts that do not require repayment. Ensuring that students complete their studies on time is essential not only for the effective use of institutional resources but also for providing opportunities to other deserving students.

- A centralized and confidential platform for submitting proof of income.
2. Academic Performance Monitoring

Zero Hunger – SDG 2

Al-Hilla University Policy for Zero Hunger and Food Security (SDG 2)
Al-Hilla University is committed to supporting Zero Hunger (SDG 2) by promoting food security and providing essential assistance to students and staff in need.
The University provides free meals and grocery baskets to its lower-income employees, particularly those working in facilities management and security services. Approximately 1,400 meals are served annually, while during the month of Ramadan, the University provides around 60 meals per day for employees working different shifts.
In addition, the University distributes monthly grocery baskets to eligible staff during Ramadan. These baskets include essential food items such as rice, pasta, eggs, flour, spices, and other basic groceries, helping to enhance food security, support sustainable living practices, and reduce food waste.
To further support its students, Al-Hilla University provides:
- Subsidized Student Housing
Affordable accommodation located in the city center to reduce students’ living expenses. - Priority Support for Vulnerable Students
Housing priority is given to orphans and students facing financial hardship who may struggle to secure accommodation in urban areas. - Non-Profit Housing Services
As a non-profit institution, the University maintains exceptionally low housing fees without any intention of generating profit. The associated costs are subsidized through the University’s own resources. - Free Transportation
Students benefit from free transportation to and from the University, with multiple daily schedules designed to accommodate their academic timetables.
Through these initiatives, Al-Hilla University promotes equal access to education while contributing to food security and the well-being of its university community in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
Good Health and Well-being – SDG 3

Al-Hilla University Policy for Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3)
Al-Hilla University is committed to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages by improving public health, reducing premature mortality, combating communicable diseases, promoting mental health, and supporting universal access to quality healthcare services. The University also seeks to address issues such as road safety and the prevention of substance abuse while fostering a healthy and sustainable campus environment.
Key Objectives under SDG 3
Maternal and Child Health
- Contribute to reducing preventable maternal, newborn, and under-five child mortality through health awareness and community engagement initiatives.
Disease Prevention and Control
- Support efforts to combat communicable diseases, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, and other infectious diseases through education and awareness programs.
Mental Health and Well-Being
